Just joined and just started med

I was diagnosed with Parkinson's at the end of May and over the last 2 weeks have been on the starter pack of Requip, beginning at 0.25 mg x 3 a day, and second week (where I am now) at 0.5 mg x 3 a day.  I have been OK with regard to side effects but my leg tremor actually seems worse.  Can Requip make a tremor worse?  I thought it was meant to help!!

Welcome Nothern Lass.My meds increase my tremor when I first take them.After an hr.or so the tremors settle down,and often disappear until the meds wear off. Hopefully as your dosage increases the tremors will slow down,or better yet stop. Give requip a fair chance it has helped many with PD. If it doesn't workthere are other similar meds your neuro can prescribe.I hope you hear from others on requip.Wish you the best.Ed

Welcome. Same here, just started the starter kit, on week three. I find it is inclined to make me drowsy, but no other differences. My prescription from the neurologist says, starter kit first then maintain. My GP doesn't quite know what to prescribe next as the dosage isn't mentioned. What's the usual dosage after week 4? Frances
