My father served in Vietnam and was exposed to Agent orange.  My brother has spinal cord disease and I have Parkinsons Disease.  My family does not have any history of PD and I was wondering if there are any other children of Vets that were exposed to agent orange and now their children have PD.  For just a piece of mind I would like to know if my PD is somehow related to my father being exposed to agent orange.

Im doing the best I can.  I have had the DBS and I am still taking Parcopa and Azilect.  I was diagnosed with PD in 1996 at the age of 24, medically retired from the police department bt still working in law enforcement.

My husband has been denied twice by the VA for his Parkinson's Agent Orange exposure. Because he was in the Navy and was in-country on secret missions, we can find no proof of brown water service--even though he was on RPB's and Huey's as a door gunner.  Please beware if you were in the Navy and served in Vietnam, but your DD-214's do not indicate such service!  Anyone who has had this problem, I would love to hear from you.

 

Jack is now in advanced stages of Parkinson's, MSA and Shy-Drager Syndrome. Still dealing with the VA, hoping they will find some proof.  Have enlisted the help of Senator John McCain's office.  Wish us luck! smhair

I am 39. Dx. with pd almost a year now. My dad was exposed to agent orange in Vietnam. I do not know if there is a relation.
