Anyone with Artane (aka trihexyphenidyl) experience? Was on it and didn't like it. Might have to go back.

I have been on artane for over a year now. I take 4 pills twice a day and seligeline 1 pill twice a day. It does not take my tremors away but I am alot worse without it. I am only 41 and was diagnosed 4 years ago. It has been a rough road.

When I was 45 and had tremors, I was on Mirapex, Sinemet, and Compton. Sorry I have had no experience with Artene. Why would you go back on a medication that does not make you feel better? What medications do you have to take for your tremors or other symptoms?

Diagnosed with PD last October. Started sinemet. Did not stop symptoms....tremors, hunch back, poor handwriting, etc. Started Artane with sinemet, made all the difference with symptoms. However, dry mouth side effect horrible. Would wake up at night with my cheeks stuck to my teeth and my tongue stuck to the roof of my mouth. Extremely uncomfortable. After reading about
sinemet long range effects I wanted to try something else. Asked neuro about
azilect. HE SAID IT'S TOO EXPENSIVE AND WOULD NOT PRESCRIBE IT!. Went to another neuro late December. He agreed that sinemet is not the best start. Started azilect and started to decrease artane. January 1 my left eye got cloudy. Went to opthamologist. Eye pressure extremely high. Eye drops to reduce pressure. Went six times in three weeks, 200 miles round trip each time. Pressure is now ok and I am off the artane. Eye still not right. Read more about
artane. IT CAN CAUSE HIGH OCULAR PRESSURE. That's why I am hesitant about
artane. It worked for my symptoms, but my eys are pretty important.
Antbody ever use Artane????
Dan
