Mirapex

The FDA has approved Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceuticals’ Mirapex ER (pramipexole dihydrochloride) once-daily, extended-release tablets for the signs and symptoms of idiopathic Parkinson disease (PD), including early and advanced PD. Studies showed that patients with advanced PD who were treated with Mirapex ER experienced superior symptom relief versus placebo. Mirapex ER also demonstrated benefits similar to those of Mirapex (pramipexole dihydrochloride) tablets, each versus placebo, while significantly reducing off-time (period of time when symptoms return) versus placebo.

Just thought it was some good info.

My medicare part D does not cover Mirapex ER at all. I received an update regarding Mirapex tabs. They are not going to cover the tabs June 1 because there is a generic available. The generic is Pramipexole Tabs. Is this a new generic or something that has been available?

So what dosage is the extended release tablets comparable to vs the regular Mirapex taken? For instance, if I took 100mg 3 times a day normally what would I take then in the release form?
