Hi Guys, I've been taking meds for PD fpr about 2 years Sifrol and Sinemet:
Sinemet 250/25 - 6 per day (three lots of 2)
Sifrol 1mg - 3 per day " 1)
Had to go off Sinemet becuase of horrific side effects (wont bore you with the details they are well documented on the internet. With Sinemet they develop after taking them for a few years.
So I live in Australia and my neurosurgeon has put me on Madopar, The nightmares and Hallucinations are all but gone, in fact - judging by last night they are gone. Whoopee!!!
But in regard to Madopar :- It is not available (I believe) in the USA. Can't find a reason for this on the internet, so I was wondering if any of you guys might know. So far it has made me very sleepy, but that is all. My Neuro put me on 200/50 and suggested one and a half tablets 3 times a day and drop the sinemet totally. Well 1.5 tablets knocked me silly. Went to 1/2 of one and will build from there as my tolerance grows.
Anyway can anybody shed some light as to why Madopar is banned in the US?
