Welcome Fordman to the Parkinson's Forum here on Healing Well. I was first diagnosed with Pd at the age of 49 and then had a very rapid progression of my symptoms and also rapidly maxed out on all of my PD medications. I was rediagnosed with an atypical form of PD called MSA or Multiple System Atrophy. I went through most of the problems patients experience with normal PD. I had a right hand tremor, gait problems, muscle and joint stiffness during off times, nystagmus, arm swing problems, and swallowing problems. I applied for permanent disability when I was 50 and was approved on my first application.
