I was diagnosed with PD 10 months ago at age 68.  My neurologist started me on a low dose of Requip and has gradually increased it.  I have severe nausea with any increase but the SE subside after a few weeks.  I was on Selegiline for about 6 weeks but had such severe nausea that it was stopped.  I am now on Artane in addition to the Requip.  It is making me terribly nauseated - to the point of my not being functional.  I know that 30 to 50% of people who use Artane have nausea as a SE.  My symptoms,  right upper extremity tremor, have not decreased at all.  Is this an expected SE of Artane and should I just ride it out?  I would appreciate any thoughts.

Thanks for your support.  I've been taking the Artane for 9 days which is probably not long enough but I have felt so terrible I wanted to know if others who have taken it had similar problems.  I will call my neurologist tomorrow.  I live out in the boonies so there is no resident neurologist - he comes in once a week from afar.  Thanks again.

where are you from, my husband has had parkinson's for 15 years and has never had these drugs. he takes stelevo and symmetrel. He also has mandopar rapid to get him going in the mornings. He does not have tremors . When he is not taking his meds he is more or less in a frozen state

I have been taking Azilect and Artane for 8 months. I have had no nausea at all. The Azilect helps with most of the symptoms. Artane stops the tremors with only one tablet per day in the early afternoon. I have no tremors in the morning. Strange thing......when I am on the phone, with it in my left hand, I have tremors in my right hand. My PD is right side.
