Yes, I can help Parkinson's patients ("ParkinPeople" - my new word) initiate that sometimes impossible first step. While supporting yourself with a hand on a counter, for example, if some such firm item is handy, turn your body and feet in the direction of travel, look ahead (not down at the floor), stand erect with feet fairly close together, and gently
push away with the hand on a firm object. Step forward with the foot you choose. It Works! Sometimes helps to gently
pull yourself along a counter, etc. Another of my findings - to stop or mitigate hand tremor, extend that arm outward and rotate the hand outward while clenching your fist. Helps if you have something to grip in your fist, especially something
cold. Hope this will help someone.
