How long for meds to kick in and what can i hope for

Hi,

After being recently diagnosed and prescribed Sinemet Plus 3x 1.5 tablets a day i was wondering how long it should take before i feel or notice a difference. I appreciate that probably different for everyone and will be a case of trial and error but I'm really not sure at all what to expect or at least hope for?

Will i stop finding it necessary to pause so much when i am typing, writing or speaking?
Will this ache ease or disappear?
Will my stride increase?
Will the tremors and shaking go?

I am tormented now by this spiral test and find myself trying to follow a simple line, why can't i do it - should it get better?

Question I always ask. Are you seeing a movement disorder specialist or general neurologist? A MD specialist treats PD and other movement disorders. First I went to a neurologist and he started me on sinemet. My research said sinemet is not always the best med to start. Azilect looked like a better choice to start. It has been shown to reduce the progression of PD. Went to a MDS and he agreed. He said that sinemet should reserved for later. Azilect and Artane pretty much keeps me on track. That might not be the best choice for you, but see a MDS.
