Does my dad sound like he could have parkinsons?

He keeps telling me his doctor told him old men get what he has... but I have no idea what he has. He developed shuffling gait and tells me his legs won't move or they will freeze up for 15 minutes like it's paralyzed for awhile, then he can walk again. He stutters when he talks sometimes. Is this Parkinson's? He doesn't have shakiness, it's just his legs. Doctors gave him medicine and it helps a bit. It's only affecting his legs.

One of the first indications that PD could be in a persons future is loss of smell. That is the first question I was asked. I lost my snese of smell 30 or 35 years before PD arrived. One of the other symptoms is difficulty writing or printing. As a person writes the letters will become smaller as he/she writes. Manual dexterity will decrease. Your dad needs to see a MOVEMENT DISORDER NEUROLOGIST. A MD neurologist specializes in PD and similar diseases. He needs to take his problems seriously and see a specialist, not an MD. How old is your dad?
