Hm1,
Welcome to Healing Well.
No, not everyone responds to Mirapex with some type of compulsive behavior.
First of all, it is very common to prescribe a dopamine agonist as the initial treatment for PD. Dopamine agonists include: Mirapex and Requip. Another agonist that comes in the form of a patch is Neupro AKA Rotigotine.
I have taken Requip since 2001. I might have had a bit of compulsiveness at one point that had to do with a hobby ... wanting to get more done and more quickly. I did not have sexual or financial-types of compulsiveness. HOWEVER, it happens. If it does, talk to your doc and change meds. I would make sure your support folks and/or family are aware of the potential for compulsiveness and watch for it. You are not always aware of it and/or may try to hide it. Again, the behavior goes away once the medication goes away (switch to something else). Since you don't respond to Sinemet, it will be interesting to see how you do on a dopamine agonist.
