Hi,
I have Primary Biliary Cirrhosis and Myasthenia Gravis. I am at risk for PD. I was researching vitamins to help myasthenia gravis and found out that for decades researchers have known that manganese deficiency causes myasthenia gravis. So they have discovered that a chemical called superoxide dimutase binds to manganese and carries it to the thymus to be further metabolised. Well this chemical superoxide is not formed right or defective in people with Primary Biliary Cirrhosis like me which causes the maganese not to go to the thymus or be properly excreted but instead goes to our brains causing Parkinsons disease according to the research article. Now I have developed Myasthenia Gravis, likely due to this problem getting manganese to the thymus and so the manganese is ending up in my brain. I have some white spots in my brain and have problems sometimes. but having mg its hard to tell what is wrong. Would you get tested or be concerned? I tried taking an otc chelator lipoic acid but it made the myasthenia gravis worse though mentally i was much more alert.
