Hi everyone, I'm new but here goes. I first had signs of PD. in 1999, but was told I just had a tremor. But then in 2003 I went to see Dr. Jankovic @ Baylor of Medicine Institute in Dallas.
He is a specialist and dx me with a rare type of Pd. called Vacular Hemi Pd. which means one side. Because it had stayed only in my left arm for the 4 yrs. and not progressed!!
But about 2005 I started seeing more and more symptoms. I have tried many dif. meds, but they all made me very sick and nauseas. So I haven't been on any thing long term , but the last 3 weeks I have used the patch. I go back tomorrow to get a higher dose. I was dx with type one diabetes too when I was 14. I'am 51 and feel 65 or more.Lol Does anyone else have more than 1 auto- ammune disease? Wondering if there is a connection here. Lol I live in Northwest Ar.....does anyone else live in this area? I'm not happy with my neurologist...he seems unconcerned. But I would like to know what stage I would be considered at this point. I need to ask him.Thanks for listening to me carrying on.

Welcome to HW.  If you have not had the time to read through the threads yet I recommend that you do when you have the time.  There is a lot of info there although we parkies don't seem to post as often as some of the other forums.  Perhaps our psychology is a little different, and I am certainly including myself, so please don't be offended.  There is a lot of info here about meds including the patch.  As for other medical problems, I have oral lichen planus, which is the type of disease you mentioned, as well as prostate cancer.  Whether any of these are related somehow, no doctor seems able to answer that to my satisfaction.  I just came in from a short vacation and have to cut this short, but let us hear from you.

What are your symptoms now? It's very hard to determined what stage of PD you are, b ecause every individual varies and stages of PD overlap each others. Just continue posting and I'm sure many will share their experience with you. Just stay positive, be active (mentally and physically) and keep on researching.
