As mentioned, there are other forms of PD meds besides tablets. You might want to check into those alternatives. Here are a couple for you to research and ask the doc about:
Parcopa - an orally disintegrating tablet that basically is Sinemet
Apokyn - an injectable alternative initially promoted as 'rescue therapy' (meaning you are in a pinch and need a boost), but today is promoted as a regular form of treatment
Zelepar - a fast-dissolving selegeline
I just re-read your post and have a couple of other thoughts. Sometimes I don't think care facilities AKA nursing homes realize the importance of delivering PD meds on a regular schedule. That may be something to educate them about.
Lastly, but should have been first ... have you talked to your Dad's neuro (I think it was your father)?
