My husband completed 10 radiation treatments on Christmas Eve.  He is still nauseated, throws up, and feels like the food is sitting in his esphagus and doesn't go down.  He eats very little because of this.  Is this the norm or should we be calling the Oncologist?   He is taking Prochlorper 10 mg every 6 hours.  Thanks for your input.

Dear john1016,

I underwent 43 radiation treatments and experienced no nausea.  None.  My treatment was different, but none of the guys I knew were nauseated.  I'd call the doc.

Dear John1016, I am presently on day 15 of radiation treatment, no nausea, throwing up, they are only targeting the prostate bed in my case, but I think you should consult the doc.

Thanks Bill & Mal for your responses. The Rad Oncologist was targeting the mid and lower spine, I think with External Beam Therapy (not IMRT, I will have to find out which and why they used it. So much to learn!) Said he could be sick because the radiation goes thru the stomach and intestines. I will call the DR tomorrow if he is not better.
