Is my cancer returning?

Good Morning.  This is my first post to this forum.  I had my prostrate removed in June 2002 and was diagnosed with a Gleason grade VI score.  Since then my PSA has been less than .001 and I have been doing well.  My last PSA test was June 07.  In addition I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and take Remicade infusions for it.  I have been doing well on that until about 4-5 months ago.  I started noticing more pain than usual.  I wake up at night with pain in my right hip and shoulder.  I believe the pain is from RA however I am aware that my prostrate cancer could return.  I had a positive on one of the cut lines.  I looked through some of the other posts and did not see any indicating that the cancer had returned.  If anyone has experiece with it returning and the symptoms I would appreciate knowing what they are.  The doctor ran tests and will be in touch with me Tuesday or wednesday.  I am hopeful and expect that it is RA and not cancer.  Thank you for any information.

As long as your PSA remains non-detectable, you should be cancer-free.

I'm about a month post op(01-29-08). I had one positive margin .3cm at the cut line. I'm glad that you are 5 years out without a problem. I hope I will be that fortunate. My first PSA is in May and I am very worried. I'm hoping it will be okay. I'm sure the first PSA was scary for you.
