Had my Surgery

 Hi, everyone back in the Lodge,had the Surgery yesterday 

Morning, did pretty good after, but one hurting puppy right now, stomach still bloated, am passing gas. No bowel movement as of yet, walking my legs off. Any ideas?  Dr  Tully said the prostate was small, came out easy, and did a pathology right then, said margins clean, organ confined. He left a good stump.

 Will get the whole report next week. Thank you for all the advice and support.

 

Good for you, Fatcat! Now the recovery...be patient, be good (that means follow the doc's orders) and this is the time you can pass gas as much as possible ;-)

Welcome to the "other side". Good news on the initial post-op path report - sounds like you are on your way to a full recovery. We all like to hear such good news.

Take it easy and you will be back on that "900 lbs of tupperware" in no time. I'm getting the Sportster ready to go for spring. Get well soon and I'll see you on the highway...

What great news to hear you successfully made it thru surgery to what is affectionately called here, "the other side".  As others have advised, take it easy and give your body a chance to heal well from the trauma it has experienced.  Time and patience, patience and time! Take care and hang in there...Tim

fatcat, good to see ya on the other side.  Take time to heal and regain your strength.  Don't push it now.

I agree, the BM's post op were very uncomfortable, the stool softener is definitely a plus, you do not want to strain. You guys are right, Dr. Tully was my surgeon, I could not be happier with my choice, the entire staff is commendable and very caring about your outcome. Small world isn't it.

Well I’m back, hurts like a son of a gun, my Boys look like grapefruits, still no BM, passing gas, have taken stool softener. The staff at St.Vincents are incredible, the Nurses actually care about you and Dr. Tully’s staff is first rate. Hey War-Eagle isn’t Dewayne great.  Urine running clean, but a 5 hour car ride, sure is a pain in the what,s it. Can’t say a enough about my family, especially my Wife. I felt so sorry for the man in the room next to me, he had no one, came in alone, left alone, it was so sad. I think when I get better I;m going to see if there is anyway I can  just drop in say hi to guys like that. No one should be in a hospital for this alone. I know the Privacy act makes it tough but there has got be a way.  Well I'm going for a walk with my friend and shadow  "Wilson"

Keep the updates coming!!!  It's really important  ~ Thread: Day 2 & 3 Up-date Quote copied… here… Had the Big Poopy moment, you would have thought I was a year old the way my Wife acted and like the grandson at a year, only differance I didn't get a Choclate chip cookie. put the leg bag on, went to Sams. You know most Cars suck to get in and out off. Anyone recommend a model, thats easy in and out ?  Wacked my head twice on the Chrsyler. Walking was great, slow but making progress, going to a very good friends wedding this afternoon, won't be doing the Tango, but I'll be there. It is very frustrating with this Cathater.  Later, more to come   I personally think a BIG CHUNKY Chocolate Chip cookie is necessary for recovery!!! giggle/giggle   Just wanted to drop in and say Welcome Home and continue to stay close!! Hi fatcat,

Welcome to 'the other side'. Now the healing can begin. Take it easy for a while and give your body a chance to repair itself. Don't forget to 'kegel' and do a lot of walking as soon as you feel up to it.
