I have just heard on TC's Caring Bridge site that my friend and companion on our journey has lost his mother.

I first met Tony here at Healing Well and we have become great friends by sharing our faith and our desire to beat the monster that controls our lives. He has always provided me with support, love, and most of all hope. He has given so much to all of us here. I just wanted to give something back to him at a very hard time in his life. Tonight I will join with friends to say a prayer for Tony. Please join with me and help to celebrate the life of his mother and the son she raised.

We love you Tony and you are not alone.

Amen to that Walt. Tony and his family will be in our prayers, tough to lose a parent but I'll bet she was a great Mother and a great person. Hang in there Tony, Healingwell will be thinking about you and your family the next few days....jwb.

Losing your mom is particularly hard - there's not a day goes by that I don't think of mine. You're in our prayers.

Tony. We are so sorry for the loss of your mother. The worst day of my life is the day I found my mother had left us in the middle of the night. Think back on the good times you had with her and know you will be re-united again.

Wow,
It's been surreal that last 24 hours.  My family thanks you all, and those who posted at my blog as well.  Today is my first day to begin without mom, but yet I feel her as though nothing has changed.  It was hard to walk through her house without tears.  But they were tears of joy and happiness.  I came here for support on my journey with cancer, and ended up with friends for the ages.  I am emotional enough on Lupron, but you people have made me feel comfort at the most difficult time.  I write my most sincerest thanks to you all.  As a Christian I want you to all know I am grateful for the amazing grace of the Lord, and the acceptance that my mom is finally at peace.  It is a beautiful morning here in California.  God's gift of recreation is ever present.  And I have a new guardian to begin this day with.  This guardian had me walk to a wall in my mom's house with this framed writing on it.  I want to share it with you:

Words cannot be enough as you and your family both grieve and celebrate your mother's life.  Your friends are always here for you.

I appreciate the photograph of you playing Flaminco guitar on your site.
I've been listening to Sting play Elizabethian lute music all week.
So much history and culture communicated in each dissonate harmony in these styles.

Mothers are the vessels by which we are "baptized" into the world -
       - enveloped in the histories of our families and their culture & love.
In awe, we pick up the work of such departed family member/saints
       - and carry on, together.

i have tears in my eyes. but she passed knowing she had imparted her strength to you, and that i'm sure gave her peace. i wish you and your family the best in dealing with your loss.

Hi Tony & Ruthie,

I am so very sorry to hear of your loss. You have been such a special friend and have touched the lives of so many people with your helping hand. Tony your mom would be so very proud of the person you are. I hope you can focus on the happy times you had with her. She is in a better place now.
