what is an average time for the improvement of ED after surgery?It's been one year for me with some results with cialis or viagra

I am at 9 months. I have seen some improvement over that period of time, but I am not back to my old self. Bimix works great. I have recently had some successful penetration with both Viagra and Cialis. Nothing to be proud of. As you may have seen on this site, some guys get it back right away, and some guys never really get it back. The default answer that the doctors seem to give it that magic 1 year time period. Others may go 18 months or more. The problem is that we are all different. We should never give up hope.

Sometime past 6 months is my experience.  I'm still waiting for the first sign of it... eyes

I am at 15 months with only limited improvement. Still, I can see some improvement, so I am not giving up. As you will see on this forum, everybody is different so trying to figure out an average will be difficult. Even after a year there is much hope for us!

I am 11 days out. My Doc really pushes this ED thing. I had morning erections day 3 on even with the catheter.(Ouch!) I am 54 and rarely had morning erections before surgery for many years. After Catheter was out Doc gave me 50 mg Viagra in morning (every other day) and told me to exercise the organ to climax if possable. Goal is not to have intercourse but to increase blood flow. I have had two rounds of this. It seems if I take Viagra on a morning stomach before breakfast the effects are much greater. I would trade this for better continence issues in a minute. Its not too usefull with the dripping thing if you know what I mean. My wife is great with this and we may try condoms. At week two or three. I dont want to hurt anything. Doc says dont worry just dont do acrobatics. Very funny. There is only so much vanity I can give up at once. Going to bed in a diaper is low on my romance scale. Funny thing, I dont hear alot of guys on this site that were dry day one and had no ED issues. Its either one or the other success or delay.

I think it was here that I read one man reporting that it was a full three years after surgery before his sexual function stabilized at whatever place it did.

Six months out and dry, but limp as an overcooked noodle. It looks like you either get the continence back or the errection back quickly, but not both.

I'm really hoping it does come back, as I'm not looking forward to 40+ years and no sex.

I'm at 10 months and finally beginning to see some welcome improvement. Still no "spontaneous" erections, but some pretty good ones with manual stimulation but without chemical assistance. (I couldn't say that even a couple of months ago.) My dr has told me that improvement can continue up to 2+ years. Don't give up hope. I think we heal at different rates, and I'm still determined to see a real -- and natural -- woody!

I am taking 100 mg viagra every night. I was able to have pretty much back to normal sex at 10 weeks - interestingly about the same time that I was finally dry.  There is a study out there that showed the larger dose of viagra not only helped ED, but also reversed the shrinkage and after a year the subjects were back to norml size. Thank god for alldaychemist.com!

I was lucky to be try from day one after the cath came out, but ED was left in it's wake. The Doctor has had me on Cialis three times a week, and just started the pump 45 days ago. On Monday, which was 6 months and three days after my surgery, I awoke to my first natural erection, boy, what a relief! Hope this will be the beginning of getting back to normal.

100mg a day was my original dosage of Viagra. While it did help things along, the extra blood flow really showed up in the Hemriods. OUCH!!! Now that they are under control again, thanks to some other wounderful drugs, I'm trying the viagra again.

I am looking forward to no more DREs.

I am at 21 months. There may be some slight improvement going on, but no suitable erections on just Viagra or Levitra (or Cialis). I do generally take a full dose of either generic Viagra (100 mg) or generic Levitra (20 mg) daily, and can get semi-erect with that.

Thank God for injections. Great results with the bi-mix that I'm using now, so my "batting average" is going up. I do notice on days right after the injection I can get more firmness than on days further from injections. I am now trying to do injections every 3 days or so, whether I have sex or not, just to get the feeling of swinging the old bat back. cool
