There are, unfortunately, a lot of newbies here on the site and they won't know what I'm talking about, but, perhaps some of the "old timers" will remember my talking about the end of my car lease. I was so depressed about my condition that I couldn't imagine signing a new lease at the end of my present lease in June 2008 because I didn't think I'd live long enough to see it through to its end.

Well...thanks to Carol and Gina (remember them?), and all you good folks here who showered me with support, prayers and good wishes, my head is in a completely different place. So much so, that I ordered a new car (the latest model of the one I have now, only instead of this one's black, the new one is Atomic Orange). It arrived at the dealership yesterday, we looked at it this morning and will pick it up during the week.

I'm now convinced I'll outlive the lease, but, should the worst happen, at least I'll go out in an Atomic flash!

Good deal.....Live life, look forward, keep on keeping on.  A new car is bound to be a confidence booster as well as  alittle ego stroker....lol..Good for you, glad you are moving ahead..

I Love the fact that you gettin' busy livin', too. I made the decision when I was first told they probably won't cure me. I live a much more fullfilled life these days and find keeping myself busy is a great way to keep the negative thoughts away. it has worked perfectly. I am driving a new Deisel Pick Up, a great RV, and working hard for an uncertain future. But I am doing great. And so are you. You are one of the best stories here. You have helped many others in great ways. You deserve to enjoy these things and live life to the fullest. If I'm not mistaken, you're in a Vette. Ride on,,,,,and right on!

What an attitude! Hope to meet you someday.

We are looking at getting a new or newer 5th Wheel RV when we return home after treatment.

I hope no one objects to my placing links to blogs and websites on my site. 

Hopefully the site while simple and mainly our journey it will offer hope and information to others who may find themselves looking into a dark tunnel and needing a ray of light.

Atomic Orange is an appropriate color for the new you, Les.  I am happy for you and proud of you.  Way to go!

That's great, Les!  I am glad to hear that you are doing well and are going for the gusto with the new car.  You have a new lease on life.  Thanks for your example of courage and perseverance and hope!  Tim

Hi Gordy I am new to the site so I never got to meet you. I want to bow to you, I have always wanted to get one but other things always put it on the back burner. I'll so my wife (CFO) this post just to give her a little hint. Keep the positive additude. May be I can get your lease trade in when you get your next one,

Just got back from working in PA and saw this post - had a big smile on my face by the time I got to the end!

Oh, Gordy, you're making our mouths water here. Atomic orange, eh? (Our history is a slew of 67-68s and a Greenwood conversion once upon a time.)

While we have had more than a few chuckles around here over some of your comments to the newbies, today, you're reminding me to move it forward and draw each day out with pure joy - and one for you that includes a 'vette, no less!

Gordy. This is such an event. A new Atomic orange vette!!! Did you get a Z06? I am so jealous. One day I hope to own one too. This has really made my day. Keep in touch. By the way, how close are you to New York City? The wife and I are visiting our daughter there next month.

Thanks Norskie and Greenacres. In the end, it really comes down to this: I've decided it's much better this way than the other. Better for me and better for Carol, who I think, was even more freaked out than I, if that's possible.

A Greenwood Vette, eh?

No Mika, just a plain old 430 horsepower coupe is about all I can handle. We're near the Western edge of NJ, just 20 miles from PA.

Congratulations on the new Corvette!!!

Once I recovered enough from my back to back surgeries, my wife got a new car and I got the privilege of inheriting her 7 year old vehicle.

Just call me hand me down Dan....lol.
