Hi everyone, was wondering how many of us have had a vasectomy, and then in later years developed Pca? I had mine when I was 35, Pca diag. at 66.

I had one in 1972 at age 25, diagnosed PCA in 2007 at age 60

No vasectomy for me.  My wife had a hysterectomy 20 years ago so I never needed one!  David

Had mine done in 1996 (age 59). Cancer found in 2006.

Under the knife in 1977 age 37/38 PCa 2008 age 68 - I seem to remember reading something about 10 years ago that tried to tie an increased chance of PCa with Vasectomies. Not sure.

No vasectomy here either. Although I can't place it at the moment I do remember reading of a study that revealed a statistical connection between early vasectomy and PCa. Of course, as is par for the course with most things medical, I also later came across another study that demonstrated there was no statistical correlation between the two.

No vasectomy here.  My wife had her tubes tied after the birth of our 2nd child (18 yrs ago).

Never had a vasectomy. PCa diagnosed at age 43. My wife had her tubes tied after the birth of our 2nd child (12 yrs ago). Man time flies by.

But, father and his brother both had PCa and never had Vasectomy

Vasectomy at 40 something. PCA at 75. Don't know about cancer, but I believe it caused my BPH.

So far 13 out of 19 had vasectomy, makes you wonder eh?

So it seems there may an association between vasectomy and PCa, but by no means proven.

The way you worded the original question (and thread title) implied that you were interested only in those of us who have had vasectomies. So the non-vasectomies would have stayed away. As a result, your survey will be skewed towards vasectomies.

So you non-vasectomy guys, get in here and even things up!
