Sex before PSA test, (Post Op)

I heard that having sex before a psa test pre op, can increase psa readings.

Does anyone know if this is true post op? I go for my 3 month check this week.

I am wondering if any activity ( sex/orgasm) will effect the test.

Hi Bob D,

Since you are lacking a prostate, sexual activity should have zero effect on the PSA test.

Such activity prior to the PSA test can cause elevation in the PSA, but not to a large degree.

It has been my experience both pre op and post op that sexual activity before the psa test is a very bad idea. I try to do my best to have four quiet days before they draw the blood. Ulta sensitive tests are sensitive.
