Your biopsy seems akin to my 2nd one that had 45 samples. The local newsman here who had it done had 90 sample taken. My experience was similar to yours, I was sore for a couple of weeks. These saturation biopsies show you how poor the standard biopsies are in actually locating the tumor. But the latter are really just designed to see if they can detect any malignancy to later remove/radiate..etc the entire gland. Mine was to see if I qualified for TFT(Targeted Focal treatment). What possible treatment is this being done for? Sorry if you have stated that before, I've been out of the loop for a couple of months here.
If we find anything, brachytherapy seems the way to go. Worked great for Dad and he had very advanced cancer. I still have to get a diagnosis before I can decide... the wait goes on.
Let's see what your biopsy indicates. You may possibly want to consider what I had done, or just look into it if you qualify by your multi-needle biopsy. It's like a lumpectomy. Or in other words I still have my prostate with the tumor destroyed by freezing. It's an ongoing clinical research study. But only available at this time in I believe three cities. I'll be reposting all the links to it in the near future. I'm kind of waiting for my first quarterly PSA test after TFT which I now have scheduled for 7/30. Stay tuned, one can never have enough treatment options..
I agree on never too many options. I'm interested in the therapy you underwent. Post the links soon so I can read about
it before I have to decide. I'm in Chicagoland so I hope that's one of the 3 cities.
Unfortunatley it's not. The research is going on here in Denver. And one guy said it was available in Florida and I believe maybe around New Orleans. Here's just a quick link to my Urologist site about
it.

He's the director of Research urologic Oncolgy at teh University of Colorado Hospital. There's also a 5 part local news broadcast of a local newsman who also had this procedure. That's how I learned of it and I went to the same surgeon. Those are now harder to find links for. Although scroll down to this link on the home page of Dr Barqawi's site
To learn more about research efforts click here.
and you'll be directed to the tv station site then scroll half way down and you'll seek the video links to the PCa special you can watch if you get interested. Parts 2-4 are the most relavent. You'll need to go back to the start of the watched vidoe to get the link to the next. all re about 5 - 7 minutes long/ They use to be easier to access when broadcast last December.
