rob's neck and stomach

Hi everyone: I know it's been awhile. I hope everyone is doing good. Roughly a month ago Rob started vomiting. This doesn't happen all the time, every once in a while. It comes out of the blue then he's okay for a few more days or even a week. It comes on suddenly, only bile, no blood and no stomach pain. This also happens when he gets stressed. Does anyone have any ideas what could cause this. Is it possible that the chemo can do this since he's had 9 rounds of chemo already. We are worried that the cancer has spread to his stomach.  Also, i think that i mentioned in earlier posts that the rad doctor could not do anymore radiation to his upper neck. A few days ago, he started having pain right at the top of his neck. At first it was only once in awhile but yesterday it started and hasn't let up. I guess this means that the tumours have started growing again. Does anyone know of anything else that we could ask the doctors to try? If we don't come up with suggestions they aren't overly helpful. I'm really scared that the tumours will continue to travel to his head. Haven't told him this. If anyone has any ideas we would really appreciate them.  Thanks everyone.  Lifeline

I am sorry to hear of your Rob's latest trials. I sure wish I could offer helpful advice on the pain front but I have no ideas. I would do a little jumping up and down though with his doctors about pinpointing the exact cause.........the "grin and bear it" attitude by some stoic patients and doctors is not necessary and they sometimes need a little nudge. The squeaking wheel really does get the attention. So far as the vomiting and nausea goes, this may well be an aftermath of the chemo treatment. I could in no way be seen as a new age health nut but I have found through personal experience that consuming a probiotic such as Yakult (provided it's O.K. by the docs) can sometimes settle nausea or digestive tract upsets. I don't know if there is much to the claims touted by health stores of restoring intestinal bio-flora killed by antibiotics etc, but it seems to work. (at least for me). I sure hope things start to improve for you both and you get the answers you deserve.
