Nerve Sparing Surgery

I believe the wide and varied results from nerve sparing surgery when removing the

prostate is that some surgeons perform nerve sparing and some just say they

spared the nerves. How would one know what was really done during the surgery?

You have to trust your surgeons, and expect that they actually do what they say -- which I am sure will be 99% of the time.

I think it more likely that the nerves can take a beating depending on how easy they are to detach from the prostate. The amount of damage can vary widely, and probably is not always evident at the time of surgery.

In your case, it's safe to assume not much damage

The general rule of thumb for robotic surgery" ROBOTIC SURGERY IS NOT NECESSARILY BEST

is someone with 300 or more surgeries" A HIGH NUMBER DOESN'T NECESSARILY MAKE THEM GOOD.
