Urinary pad etc.

I am writing about items used to combat incontinence.  I have had this problem for about two years and had Two AUS fitted and both failed.  I am back to pads and have been using Tena pads which don''t chaff your body but to change these about 8 times a day is no fun.  It also costs me about $100.00 per month.  Everybody has a solution and I have tried several different things---pads of course are basic; tried several different condo drain systems and none have worked.  I get a real good seal but if I sit for any period of time they back up and it breaks the seal.  The latest one which was to solve all is Bioderm which is a two piece unit but have had no success with that.  Today I ordered a starter kit from Arcus medical which is supposed to work.  I am going to have an AUS installed in October and hope it will work but I am looking beyond just in case it doesn't.  I would appreciate hearing from you guys and there must be thousands of you out there.  Would appreciate any help.

I don't want to mention the urologist who did the first two operations but they were done in the Milwaukee area.  At the time i did not know what kind of questions to ask and i got someone who was not knowledgeable.  I am having Dr Dan Elliott from Mayo Clinic in Rochester Mn do the next surgury.  I know will all work well because he has done at least 1000 of these.  I will keep all posted and the next opration will be October 3,2008.

Jerry, I went to a prostate support group recently and they had all kinds of latest devices, information, etc. about incontinence.  One of the items they talked about (but did not have on hand to show) was a clamp device of sorts.  It is meant not only to clamp (mildly) but to exert pressure on the urethra to hold back leakage.  I'm posting this mainly to see of any others are familiar with this device.

I have gotten a new Cuningham clamp and i am the guy who said it was devised by some oriental torture specialist.  At the time i was given this to use i was in such bad shape that i don't think i gave it a fair chance.  I have now started bending the top portion and it does seem to be a bit better  Thanks Gene.  I hope you guys who have just been fitted with AUS will report how you are doing once the unit has been activated.  My first one was a great dissapointment because it never did work properly and the second one was never activated because i was so infected that i almost died.  This is when i went to Mayo
