What to drink after surgery?

I have read and been told that water is the preferred drink during recovery after Da Vinci surgery.  I am supposed to have my catheter removed on 8/11/08.  What about pepsi, gatorade, alcohol?  I would love to have a slice of pizza and a beer but I don't want to upset my recovery.  Any suggestions?

Don't get me wrong water is great..... but did you know that beer helps fight off bladder infections yeah

Seriously,  lots of non calorie filled drink.  If your urine is starting to turn yellow your not drinking enough.

Just remember that Alcohol and Caffene will increase urine output. Other than that you hsould not have any problems that I would know of. But, I'm a welder and not a Doctor.
I know when I get my AUS turned on I want to have some beer and try to blow a gasket!!!!....hehehhe

Enjoy yourself. Remember - it will be a long time before peeing will be a casual thing. Fill that catheter bag to the brim! Drink up and enjoy. I certainly had a few beers and a glass of wine. So you produce more urine? who cares? It's going into a stupid bag - you don't even have to get up to pee.

Life is too short to worry about this stuff.  you've just beat death. celebrate.

Johnnie Black was my favorite. Now red wine in small quantity...I did fill the catheter bag a few times...

I was put on a normal/regular/eat n drink like I did before surgery after the Da Vinci surgery...
