constriction rings for ED

A lot of us are in the same boat when it comes to partial erections - they're encouraging, but not exactly usable. Even with Viagra it is not at 100%. The frustration is that it gets headed in the right direction, but then deflates without warning.

 I did some reading and decided to try a constriction ring, or as known in the business a cock ring.  I stopped into a local sex shop (NOT the ones with the video booths in the back!) and did some research.  Believe it or not, the clerk was really helpful and it wasn't in the least bit weird or uncomfortable. Anyway, he showed me several types and I finally chose an adjustable surgical rubber ring. It looks like a lassoo with two tails. it is surgical rubber tubing that passes through two different plastic tubes. You put it on and tighten only as much as you need to or are comfortable with. Believe it or not, the results were great. After some foreplay with my wife, and a lot of MB, it got plenty firm enough for penetration. You can imagine, it was great.

I am just putting this out there to encourage other guys in the same boat to get over the feelings about going into one of "those" stores and try these out. It was cheap - about $5.

Just a word of advice. If your planning of using a necktie of little willy, you might want to give him a hair cut first.....

I have total ED and find a cock ring of the style Paul described does not work for  me. I have difficulty in pulling it tight enough, and also find that skin tends to get pinched in the connecting beads. Ouch!

However, when (if!) I regain natural function, and when less tension is required I expect it to be useful.

The best solution I find for now is office rubber bands. Mine are a little under 2" diameter and 1/8" wide -- I don't imagine the size is too critical. Doubled over to give two loops, one gives a snug fit. I normally use four or five this way on top of each other. Those less challenged on the ED front will need fewer.

They work well in conjunction with a cheap VED, fitting snugly just inside the base and when carefully placed don't interfere with the seal at the base of the VED.

The beauty of bands is they are cheap and easy to buy. They are very adjustable. If you need more or less constriction, adjust the number of bands. You could cut them off if you need to -- without breaking the bank. But I find them fairly easy to remove one loop at a time. 

The rings really do work -- assuming you can get enough blood flow in there in the first place! They stop or slow down the venous outflow, which would otherwise lead to the collapse of the erection. Interestingly, the veins (outflow) lie near the surface, while the arteries (inflow) are near the center. Consequently with the right amount of constriction, you can still have inflow (eg caused by stimulation or VED) while inhibiting the outflow.

The usual advice is not to leave the rings on for more than half an hour, which is usually plenty of time to do the business. 

If you think what happens during normal sex, the little guy takes a real beating. I suggest if you feel more than a little discomfort with constriction, you are being too rough -- take that as a warning to ease off a bit.

We're all different and at different stages of our "recovery". We each need to find the amount of constriction that works for us. I'm sure that experimenting with a little constriction at first, and building up gradually will do no harm, and maybe a lot of good. Upwards and inwards     

I am confused about how you wear one. Some instructions say to put just "little willie" in there, and some say the the "family jewels" should be included too.

One around the base of willy works great. You can put a second one around the "boys" also.
