I just turn 50 and found out I have prostate cancer surgery first week of jan. boy what a way to start the new year help

Welcome, me too, to the club, sorry to see ya here, and sorry you have to join. There's lots of experience with the different approaches to treatment, both before and after, so ask away. It helps us to understand your situation if you post some details of your journey so far here for us. Adding a signature would be a good way to do that. open Control Panel function above then edit profile and go to the bottom and fill in a sig. form and it'll post it here, the next time you post. Again, welcome...

Welcome to the world of PC and this fine group of people. I hope you find some answers and comfort here, as I have thus far. Sorry you are having to go through this, like most here, it hit me by surprise too. I am glad to be on the other side of my surgery, so good luck to you ahead.

Welcome to the club nobody wants to join. It sounds like you have decided your treatment options already so good luck with the surgery. Dealing with cancer requires lots of patience and a great attitude. Healing goes better if we are positive about our life.

So please stay with us. We can all get well together...

Hello, me too,

Welcome to the site.  We are all in this together and I have received so much input and info. that is almost overwhelming. My recommendation is to do your homework.  Research all you can about this nasty circumstance, and make your decisions accordingly.  This is the only site I go to for insight and a wealth of experienced gentlemen (and in some cases, their wives), to get more information and an idea of what I can expect down the road.  There are some great people here like Biker, TC, and James C.. They can tell you mluch more than I can because I'm fairly new here but I don't miss a day without checking in.  Do fill out the signature profile.  It helps.

Hi me too,

Welcome to the site. Boy I sure know how you feel. I had turned 50 in January and had my dx in Feb. It takes awhile to digest all of this as information's coming pretty fast. Try to be patient. Like the other guys said there is a lot of experience and information here. Just keep reading and asking questions. The best of luck to you and yours.

Welcome, me too...Patrick.....I am a wife...Ive been in this for seven years....and my dear husband has been the full route. External radiation, brachy, lupron, and then when the cancer returned four years later, salvage surgery, fistula operation, many many cystoscopys, AUS inplant, which failed, and now coming up a hip replacement followed by a AUS redo... This is a site where you can vent and also learn...I wish that we had known about it in the beginning....Good luck to you and keep coming back. There are dear people here.......Diane

Diane thank you so much I'm not sure if I should cry. get mad or sad I know I;m afraid as I said I'm alone after my wife passed in 91 it was my job to raise my two little ones they are 24-26 this was to be my turn it helps to have people out there like you Pat
