Starting today and through Thursday, Major and Minor League Baseball are holding the annual Winter Meetings here in Las Vegas. This event is in all the sports pages and one of the biggest events in Baseball outside of the games themselves. A couple months ago I was contacted by Ed Randall, who is a New York sports talk show host, sportscaster, and a New York Yankees historian. Ed is a prostate cancer survivor as well. And through his foundation ~
Ed Randall's Bat for the Cure ~ and also through ZERO - The Project to End Prostate Cancer, there will be free PSA tests givin' to any man in the trade show that is interested. Ed contacted me through The New Prostate Cancer InfoLink and another gentleman who I am in contact with ~ Skip Lockwood, the CEO for ZERO. Together we have gathered a group of volunteers to encourage the testing and helping with the paperwork. Since I am a baseball fan, I was delighted to help. I look forward to meeting Ed, Skip, some ballplayers, too. But mostly, with the grace of God, if we will hopefully help just even one man with this event ~ it will be a success. The testing days are tomorrow and Wednesday 9am to 5pm. The testing will be performed at the Las Vegas Convention Center...LOL...if you're in Vegas, come on down, if not you will be able to read about
the effort.

Ed Randall's Bat For The Cure was founded in 2002 after the charity’s founder, Ed Randall, was diagnosed with prostate cancer. After treatment at St. Luke’s-Roosevelt Hospital in New York , Ed's cancer went into, and remains, in remission. Ed Randall is the host of Ed Randall’s Talking Baseball on XM Radio Channel 175 weekends from 9 AM-12 Noon Eastern Time. Randall is also a reporting for MLB Radio and hosts Talking Baseball on WFAN Radio in New York during the season. He’s also the author of several publications including the book Tales from the Yankee Dugout.
