Confused with the result of Biopsy

PSA was showing 9.7

Had Biopsy carried out 12 core results were

Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia with Atrophic glands

Atypical Hyoerplasia

Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia (PIN), Low-Grade

Both lobes show similar findings

Comment Both specimens show no adenocarcinoma To confirm the diagnosis by immunohistologic study is available on request

Microscopic Examination

Reveal diffused fibromuscular hyperplasia of the stroma. Small groups of hyperplastic glands, atrophic glands and glands with atypical hyperplasia are randomly seen in every cores.few glands with low grade Prostatic Intraepithelial Neoplasia (PIN), are also present

Both lobes show similar findings

Anybody have any idea wshat they are talking about and should I start to worry

I am in Thailand at the moment so language causes a problem the Doctor said that there was nothing conclusive because of the Atypical Hyperplasia so I have to wait another 8 days until we get the results from further lab tests but he did not rule out cancer so I am still very worried

Thanks for you comments as I said before I am in Thailand so I do not know how trust worthy the results are at the moment I am in their hands I will have the PSA checked every 3 months and if it shows any concern I will go to Bangkok there is supposed to be a well recommended Urology section  just a few more questions could the high reading of my PSA be due to the BPH at he time of the biopsy the Doctor said the my prostate was 30% enlarged is that much

Yes a high PSA reading can and often is  related to an enlarged prostate; the larger a prostate is, the more PSA is produced, so  SIZE of the gland should be factored in to the calculations  for a PSA number to have any real meaning.

That is meaningless: 30% enlarged FROM WHAT ? You need to know what the prostate size is.
