This is Burning Bush, member since March. I still have my symptoms as posted in March. I have only had 5 responses. Surely there is more people out there with the extreme burning and incontinence that I am experiencing after High Density Radiation. Although my Oncologist and Urologist say that I am a "Rare"case. Seeds in only for a short time, twice. Still hurting. Sorry to be a "Whiner", but I am looking for answers. I really am not looking for some mechanical devises, even though I have not heard of any for my problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

New member. I had Brachy therapy in the form of High Density Radiation (no seeds). Finished my treatment last March 19th, 2008. Along with HDR, I had 30 days of external radiation. Several months ago I had a pain in my rectum, went to Internist, he gave me suppositories for 30 days, two a day, seemed to help, but for several months I have been experiencing incontinence, and severe burning upon urination, on a scale of 1 - 10 the pain is a 12. I have been seeing a Urologist and my Oncologist and they have had me on just about every antibiotic known, along with meds. that turn my urine different colors. I have had urine analysis's, a cystoscope, and I am awaiting the result of a swab of my penis, for bacterial infection I believe. Any suggestions and/or help.

Since you've had two professional medical doctors that have not been able to do anything - I'd go looking for one till I got some help.

Sorry to hear you are still suffering the problem. I don't have any answers but if I were you I would pound on another medico's door in order to find another doc who may be able to find a solution.

I have a friend who had Seeds and HDR and ended up with what sounds a lot like what you are going thru.  After several visits to his Doctor over many months he was finally given sulfur pills which helped him a lot.  I don't know if this will be of any help to you, but it may be worth mentioning to your Doctor.  All the best to you on your journey to recovery.  Allan

If they had you on the pyridium, the med that turns your pee orange and stains badly, it should have cured the burning part of your issues, if that didn't work, it really puzzles me. The only comfort I can give is there has to be a concrete medical reason for this, and it's just going to take the right doctor at the right place to find it out. Good luck to you, and hope your suffering ends soon.

Dude, I had severe burning and when I had to go I had to go. More than once I wet myself. I would awaken several times a night to use the bathroom. It was not until my uro found a stone in my bladder that I was able to rid myself of the burning by having the stone surgically removed. Many Dr. examined me and found nothing wrong. It might be worth a look. Todd
