Had my fist experiment with Trimix

hey Ed and anyone else who is considering this, I have used a variation of this for almost a decade (before PCa) and its awesome. I would encourage those who have had no sucess with oral medications to try and use this. Its no more than a bee sting, and the results are more than worth it..........bob......no side effects but you gotta be careful of priapism

I'd like to try TRIMIX too, my urologist never mentioned it. I have no problem with the needle.

I'm getting along OK with the Viagra or Cialis and VED, but I'd like to begin to move away from the VED. There are problems with spontaneity and dependence. I'm only 6 months post-op and may be trying too hard, but I feel that the pump is creating some confidence issues for me and a dependency on my wife's part. I really want to get back to where I was, pre-op. Just being diagnosed with PC is a huge confidence destroyer. We can all remember how we felt when we got the news. Then, EVEYONE tells us about erectile issues and diapers. That's the way it USED to be.

I think psychology (in the form of performance anxiety) is playing a bigger part here than many of us realize. Remember, it wasn't that long ago that ALL erectile dysfunction was considered to be "in your head":

"Over the past two decades, the concept of erectile dysfunction has evolved from that of a disorder referred to as impotence and considered predominantly psychogenic to that of erectile dysfunction (ED), a well-understood physiologic result of multiple risk factors, both organic and psychological, which result in inadequate erectile function for coitus. Masters and Johnson suggested in 1970 that the majority of ED cases were psychogenic in nature, with less than 10% involving organic abnormalities.1 In 1972, Finkle and Thompson wrote that “pragmatic counseling” rather than psychotherapy renewed sexual function.2 These clinicians suggested that “congestive prostatitis” was associated with a psychological burden, a “problem in the head.” The first extensive epidemiologic study of male sexual behavior in the United States was reported in 1948 by Kinsey and colleagues.3 They concluded that the prevalence of ED was less than 1% in men younger than 30 years, less than 3% in those 30–45, 6.7% in those 45–55, 13.5% in those 55–65, 25% in those 65 and up, and up to 80% in those 80 years of age or more. Unfortunately, however, their sample of patients older than 55 was small, and the results for older ages not significant. It was not until the Massachusetts Male Aging Study in 1987 to 1989 and the National Health and Social Life Survey in 1992 that prevalence of ED in men in the United States was accurately measured as more than 50% in those above 40 and 31% in men overall.4,5"

We EXPECT to have erectile issues, so our brains are conveniently obliging us by making it happen.

could you share the compounding pharmacy you are using? We have a local compounding pharmacy that my wife uses for her bio-identical HRT, but they are expensive.
I notice that you pump 3X weekly, so do I -five times last week :)
Do you consider Trimix part of your recovery protocol as well as an erectile aid?

The next meet with my urologist is in July, PSA and testosterone level. I'm going to hit him up for the Trimix and Xanax. I'll probably have to get nasty . . .
I quit taking the testosterone after 2 months because your body's natural production will shut down if there is sufficient testosterone from an external source.
It's a well known fact among body builders who inject T. They live with shrunken testicles.

This ED business is much more complex than any of us realize . . . especially our doctors!

I use the pills, pump and injections all as recovery therepy until such time as I finally give up. There has been some studies that say that use of injections will help with an earlier recovery from post-RRP ED results. Again, individiual results may vary, etc.

I paid $85 for 5ml of trimix and a package of 1/2 inch gauge 30 needles at Peoples Pharmacy in Austin Texas. They gave me all the information I needed to administer the injection.
