I am sorry but I have to add my opinion about this entire subject. This is ridiculous that we are discussing whether we can order affordable drugs for erectile dysfunction due to cancer and fear of government intervention. This country has the best health care in the world but when it comes to prostate cancer we, the surgically affected, cannot get a break from our highly paid and greatly appreciated health care system. Why in the first place do we have to beg for assistance from our health care system after our doctors prescribe drugs that have known results in helping our after surgery symptoms. Why do we have to pay for a limited number of $12.00 a pill for Viagra when we can get generic substitutes overseas for $.57 cents? If I may thank All Day Chemists for their reasonable prices, I want to thank them. Their prices for generic Viagra (Reg. Trademark), and Levitra (Register Trademark) and Cialis (Registered Trademark) help us prostate cancer patients get some mental health relief. XYZ Insurance Company, you pay for mental health care but you will not pay for a prostate cancer patient the joy of waking up in the morning with a woody even after it had been prescribed by your doctor, shame on you and shame on the insurance profession in general. I do not want nationalization of our heath care system; I want fair and impartial judgment from your staff. You can do it Just try! I want people to read this site and understand the pain and heartbreak that come with this disease and the total disrespect that we have as a group. Remember we are the ones with the “best Cancer,” “only 30,000 of us a year dies.” For those of you in the insurance profession, you need to be told of rising PSA’s, You need to be told of the “odds” of cure, you need to be told that with the best doctor care you may be whole again with the help of medicine that is overpriced and under supported, you need to be told of the possibility of wearing pads for the rest of your life, and you need to be told that prescript ion ED drugs are a luxury that you either cannot afford or have access to. These drugs work in some cases and are absolutely the most important item in some people’s lives. I truly believe it is a total national embarrassment that could be alleviated by insurance and drug companies if they would just make these prescript ions affordable and available in the quantities prescribed by our doctors for prostate cancer patients. Someone somewhere has to go to work some morning and declare that it is time to change policies from profit to patient support and put this country and its people before salary and importance. Do any of you insurance companies want to learn about prostate cancer or do you want to drift in never, never land until you get word of a your rising PSA?
One last comment to my doctors, in my experience I have had nothing but the best professional advice , concern and care and I see your handicap in getting your patients the proper care using insurance companies. It must be frustrating in prescribing corrective care only to have your advice scrubbed by an insurance company. Thank you for your dedication and maybe we will live to see the day when prostate cancer patients get a little respect. As for those of you that are considering All Day Chemist as a source for affordable prescript ion drugs, they have been great for me and I hope they never sacrifice their quality and service. Bless all of you and may you have nothing but “zeros”.
