Prostate Surgery (RP) in July 2004.   First PSA following surgery was 0.02

PSA was at 0.04 for a couple of years

then PSA up to 0.06

Rceived PSA results yesterday (5/15/09)..PSA=0.08.

Should I start considering additional treatment?...radiation?

My rp was in 1995. Gleason 2+1. Gleason lower than a typical gleason of 6. My psa has risen over the 13 years to 0.6. I have not had any furthur treatment so far.  In consultation with a doctor or doctors you must make the decision. Because my psa was tising slowly I chose, in consulation with two doctors, to watch and wait.  A new proton facility is coming on line near me and if I chose treatment it would probably be there. Not knowing how my psa would rise caused me anxiety at first  but as a trend developed I was better able to handle it. 

IF my psa was a low as yours after four years I would have been jumping for joy and not be worrying about it!

Al: Thank you for the response, PC beast is exactly right. The PSA anxiety is a killer...any increase makes me crazy...Thanks for the good words. John
