MUSE 500 Mgs...Has anyone used this Pellet for ED?

I think it was prescribed for Corvetteman, but haven't heard if he tried it !

Unhappy: We can compare notes in the near future. I am going tomorrow to bring my script to pharmacy. I will not be able to get them till Monday. No one stockes this anymore here in Baton Rouge. Pharmacist said they quit stocking it after the pills became available. Viagra etc. My Dr. said I neded to try this before we start injections so here we go. $200 test drive. I guess that is the cost for admissions!!!!!

I do hope that I can report good results. I will let you guys know. My Dr. said less invasive and in his opinion this needs to be the next try before injections.

He also said I could use the MUSE with the pills for a double push...

I admit the the thought of shoving that little pellet up there is scary, even to someone who is now well used to injections. Good luck with the MUSE guys, and please do keep us posted.

Even if you have no success with MUSE, do consider injections. Auto-injectors can remove a lot of the trepidation, and I take the coward's way out -- turn away while my wife administers the injection. Foreplay with a difference

Muse can be effective for some individuals. From my experience, you need to follow the instructions to the letter to get the most out of the prescription. If you find that the 500mg is not effective, there is also a 1000mg dose.

I believe the injections can be more effective and more reliable than the Muse. However, if you don't like the idea of injecting yourself and have some worries about developing Peyronie's disease, Muse could be a good alternative.

I've used 250 mg Muse for about the last six months, and each time I've used it following the directions specifically it has worked. My experience has been that if used properly it does the job. Some observations (which may be more detailed than you would like) :
(1) Administering it is far better than it sounds like it would be-really no problem except in your head, but be sure to give it the "warm-up" time after it comes out of the frig so that pellet will both release from the applicator and dissolve better in the urethra. Also, it is important that you urinate immediately before application so the urethra is moist when you apply.
(2) The really mean it when they instruct you to stay in a sitting or standing position for a time after administering. Even though these positions are not often compatible with your intended use of the product, I have found that the drug flows out of its intended receptacle pretty quickly if you spend much time on your back, resulting in loss of effectiveness at a very inconvenient time.
(3) There is an ache with it-not bad, but noticeable. Certainly not enough to discourage use.
(4) The biggest drawback is that like with most ED remedies, you have to plan ahead, so spontaneity becomes a thing of the past.
(5) Unlike pills, most insurance companies give you no problem about it. Mine pre-approved 24 doses for one co-pay of $50. I guess they figure if you're willing to do what it requires of you to use it, you're probably not a purely "recreational" user.

I have been taking 25mgs Viagra since the Radical Prostatectomy. I saw my urologist this past Thursday. He told me now I should start taking full 100mgs pills. I did that for three days,but at $11.00 per pill,I'm not going to go broke trying to get my hardness back. Did not work,even looking at playboys and reading penthouse.
With this craze of shaving one self for hygiene and just because it looks cool and different, I did so to see what that region would look like, since I've been told it actually makes Mr. Happy"" appear bigger. I guess they meant when one could achieve an erection,but not in my case. (Plus I've heard that when the prostate is removed, the area just above where the penis comes out creates a void or an indentation.
My Doctor told me this is unlikely, but also told me my Mr. Happy actually looks smaller than before the surgery...WHAT? Thanks for the input ,doc,that makes me feel even more of a man besides, he's a pee pee doc and looks at penises all day long, how does he remember what size I looked like 6-1.2 months ago. To me, it looks the same before the surgery and now after surgery.
My insurance does not cover Viagra, and I don't think it's going to cover the MUSE, and I'm onboard with all of you that are squeamish about inserting any foreign object at all into our male members.That would make Mr. happy, very unhappy.

The rules have got to change concerning insurance coverage of Viagra. The company will certainly, without hesitation, cover newly UNEMPLOYED guys as of last January 2009,but WILL NOT COVER PATIENTS OF RADICAL PROSTATECTOMIES! C'mon, we did not ask for this surgery,and we want to enjoy sex and please our women just like they do. I've appealed three times with my insurance, but no dice. Reminds me of our mighty justice system, or lack thereof.....it's unfair,unjust,and mostly disgusting what people get away with!

Just an update: Administering the pellet was as simple as could be. That is a bit is ache but the requested event did not happen. Very dissapointed!!!!!!

Also might as a bit of agner just not sure where to place that anger!!!!! And lots of frustration!!!

I will try again just going to wait for the best time. Next adventure will be 1 hr after I take my cialis pill. Lets try a double wammy!!!!

At the risk of being repetitive, several things I have found in dealing with MUSE:
(1) make sure you give it time to warm up;
(2) after administering, spend a pretty good bit of time (and effort) massaging it in to get it distributed;
(3) be sure to remain in a sitting up or standing position until you see substantial results;
(4) at times, it has taken 30 minutes or so to take effect;
(5) do use in conjunction with viagra, etc., following instructions carefully for both drugs when administered (particularly on drinking and empty stomach);
(6) use of any form of outside stimuli is also good to take away some of the "clinical" feeling and make the whole experience a little bit more sexual.

You probably already know this pretty well, but patience seems to be the biggest thing we are all learning through this. You might also want to consider moving up to the 1000mg dosage if the side effects are not causing much problem for you.

I am just done with my first shoot with MUSE also. That was at the Uro's Office as he wanted to show how to do the insert (not a direct slide in but gently rock the tube back and forth and slight in and out so as not to scratch or irritate the urethra lining or cause a burning sensation). And as i was mentioning that I should urinate first he said, yes, and then hit the button anyways. (My Uro always triple books appointments and is always in a hurry -- not a great Doc if you want to discuss anything in detail or anything at all in fact). At any rate over the course of 10 minutes, with constant manipulation while mostly sitting it had risen to about 80 or 90%. And as I mentioned above, the 4-5 months of pumping has made for impressive girth too.

So he checked for firmness and declared it good and sent me on my way. Too bad it was a 20-25 minute ride home. While it was still tumescing it was not really usable for intercourse -- much to our disappointment.

Also the Alprostadil Ache was apparent -- not unlike the dull ache you would get from a long early morning nocturnal erection combined with a full bladder -- you remember those right?? The ache started to go away exactly 1 hour after insertion of the pellet.

Oh i should mention that because the Doc pulled the trigger before I urinated -- I had to go right after I left his office so that might have had an adverse effect of flushing some of the pellet out.

All in all not a great first outing, but will get it all right next time. Will probably try a Viagra or Cialis (and hour or two before the MUSE) combo next time (the doc recommended that as well).

Just a new update on the Amazing Technicolor Dreamjourney with MUSE.
For our third try last night I decided to incorporate the following advice:

1: Take full dose of Cialis a little while before inserting MUSE. (Did about 30 mins before).

2: Do some pre-plumping with the pump and put on a single, not too tight ring -- only
pumped to 50-60%.

3: Warmed up the MUSE package for a few minutes (on top of the bedside lampshade).

For the first ten minutes after insert, started to get some added firmness, but seemed like it was going to be the SameOld, SameOld and not get hard enough for actual use. Was standing for most of this time working/stimulating.

It looked like the ring was starting to constrict off blood supply a little too much so I took it off and after a minute or two, WHOOSH, the Alprostadil must have diffused in one gush and we had an erection just like old times -- more than adequate for penetration etc etc etc.

Cut to next scene ... (visualize relaxing and having a smoke in bed -- not really). So, one or all of the three items above might have made the difference. I wonder which it is? I hate to waste a MUSE trying to figure it out.

Also, the effect lasted well into 1.5 hours of very usable erection, even when lying flat trying to ignore it (yeah right). Even after 2 hours (and deflating slowly) if I got up and started walking it would harden back up again. Of course wife was long ago, fast asleep. Next time have to really plan ahead so we can have a lot more of the allotted time available to do whatever needs doing. And hey, NO refractory, recovery time either after orgasm -- when's the last time anyone had THAT happen (without help)?

I am thinking maybe 1000 mcg MUSE might be a little too strong also (but it could be the Cialis kicking in helping too). Too bad I can't cut the pellet in half to get more shots out of the prescription!

Hope this might give people some additional ideas to try.
