Thursday I went back to the uro for another four month psa test and DRE. When the doc walked in I told him it was best advised skipping the DRE since I had a bit of a bubbly tummy. "No problem,"he said "But next time I get to use my THUMB."

Least you warned the poor doctor, good way to get out of a DRE, will have to remember that one

Hey wait a second! I just went through all this and you're telling me the Vet still wants to do a DRE? What for? Isn't my prostate in a biohazard dish someplace? What is the purpose of a DRE?
OR are you guys just pulling my chain and I'm too naive to know...

Some docs will still check for growths in your prostate bed. To me there doesn't seems much point in this unless you have a rising or high PSA following postatectomy. And some docs might just enjoy doing DREs wink

The doctor just likes to keep in practice, besides, he can bill another $50 for the procedure.

Actually, they do like to make sure more lumps or bumps are growing in the place where your prostate used to be.

Have a good friend who's Uro is a very attractive women. She recently told him to stop **********.

As I approch two years I am thinking of calling it quites going to the uro and just let my regular doctor run the psa with the other test. That would save a good bit of money.
