Slow down Barry....be sure to look at all sides first. While every treatment has side effects...just like surgery did...the chances of having severe side effects are on the lower side of the statistics. While quality of life is an issue for all of us, don't let those that had adverse side effects govern your decision on what you do with your own health.

Dying from cancer is not a situation you want to be in. If you have a shot at a cure or remission, even at a risk of adverse side effects...would you take it? I am not in your shoes, but most folks that I know, would rather avoid the unpleasant effects of advanced end stage cancer.

Just look at both sides and then come to your own conclusions and make your own decision that best fits your situation.

well just back from the MRI (What joy to lie still with a prong up your tush!) and the bone scan (Glowing in the dark today.)

I cancelled the biopsy of August till my next PSA result (October) but rescheduled it for November.
I made an appointment post this new PSA with Doctor. He'll have the PSA, the MRI, the Bone Scan to look at and then we'll talk about the need for biopsy and Radiation (which they seem to be pushing) or Hormone Treatment as another option or primary treatment.
Of course life over death but I do not like the side effects of the treatments. I am just a little angry about this and that doesn't make for 'nice/polite.' This wasn't supposed to happen after 12 years is all!

Again thanks for the input.. You've given me questions and thoughts.

BTW - I ALWAYS TAKE WRITTEN OUT QUESTIONS (3 COPIES) TO THE DOCTOR'S OFFICE. One for him to look at. One for me to follow in and one more for the person I am with to take notes on the responses. Questions can lead to questions. I can listen and then look at the responses post the session. And also I end every session with "What haven't I asked I should have asked or what do you think I should know at this point?" It makes them really think.

good idea, the 3 copies of questions, i always have a list with every doctor that i visit, like to get my moneys worth
