This is a first for me in the never ending catheter saga. Was standing in our pantry deciding what I want to eat for lunch, and talking to my son on the phone. Felt a refreshing stream of warm liquid running down my leg. Took me a moment of enjoying its pleasure before I realized, I sprung a leak. Was still on the big bag (night bag), since I wasn't planning on going anywhere today. Ran to the bathroom, wife in pursuit, she emptied it and then syringed fresh water in it, and sure enough, was leaking where the big tube comes into the main body of the bag. Dumbly I said, can we just duct tape it? It only had to last 2 more nights, then I will get a new one after Tuesdays surgery. No reply was given, leg bag was put on and off we went to the facility where she works as a nurse. Five minutes later, she came out with a brand new bag. Emergency over. There are no medical supply stores
opened on Sundays around here. And I knew you can sleep with a leg bag.
Perhaps, I really should write a book and the Manly Art of Catheter Fashion.
