Though I have tried very hard, I cannot understand Brawley's position and honestly believe that he and the ACS are doing a huge disservice to men. Clearly we do need research that differentiates between indolent and aggressive cancer. But, in the meantime, he seems to be saying that men don't need to know whether or not they have cancer at all because we are all too stupid to decide whether or not to get treatment.
For me, and anyone I love, I want them to first of all know if the cancer is present. Then and only then can the individual deal with medical professionals and make an informed decision about treatment. If there is overtreatment today it is not because of diagnosis, it is because of uninformed decisions by patients and doctors. But what seems like basic common sense to me must not be the same to the ACS.
And, I'm with David...they will never get support from me as long as they maintain this position on testing. BTW...now that they are talking about less screening for breast cancer, they are likely to get fried by our female friends who are much better organized than we PCa folks are. And, good for them, I hope they hang 'em high...

P.S. Tony, I agree with your logic on post editing. Political commentary is PROBABLY not really appropriate on the forum, but personal attacks are CERTAINLY not appropriate...
