David, have you had time to follow up with the VA benfits from Nam exposure. Now that you have reoccurring PCa, you will be eligible for the full disability, around $3,000 a month. Maybe ask while you're there?

I may be a simpleton, but is there any chance that the zap hits directly onto the SP tube and as a result there is a heating action that takes place? Like I said, I may be out there, but it would not be unlike nukking a plastic container.

Hell you have tried asking for the reason every other way. Try your doc on this one. If nothing else it may give her a good laugh. Tell her one of your idiot brothers wants to know.

Ohio, told the operator, why would I make up that something hurts? No motive for that. If something hurts, something hurts, its that simple with me. Will be taking it up with Rad. Oncologist but perhaps a bit firmer this time.

Sonny, I thought the same thing. Perhaps it like a microwave effect with the tube and balloon in place. I am telling you for a fact, then when the machine was position right over that area of me where the SP tube exits, and the zapping noises began, I could feel the sensation of heat around the opening. There was no pain prior to the zap in that area today. Still hurts slightly 4 hours later. The operator did say that in her 8 years, she never radiated anyone with a catheter, let alone an SP. The dr, however, originally said that it wouldnt be a problem. I just hope they aren't damaging something that will be regretted later.

When I was at the unemployment office this afternoon, just like I thought, was packed like cord wood. I hadn't sat down for 5 min when I got called back. I could hear the rude remarks being made. Perhaps they should hang a sign that says "as a courtesy, our veterens are served first". Guess if I were waiting for hours, i would be ticked too. When I was about to leave, they wanted to know if I wanted a job there, as the local vet rep quit recently. So they gave me all the paperwork to fill out. Doesnt pay much, but has full state benefits and only about 15 minute drive.

Mike, my friend, hoping and praying you won't be on the SRT path, but realize with your stats, it may happen. For each of us that craps out in the percentages to the negative side, there are those that luck out the other way. I was never good at gambling, lol.

Talked to my uro/surgeon today, he's rescheduled the procedures that were cancelled this week when my wife was on an emergency trip to Florida. Next Monday afternoon late, he's going to replace cath #8 with cath #9 (at that point, this one will have been in for 33 days) and under heavy sedation (or there's no way I will go through with it) he wants to do another "hard" dialation in my bladder neck to keep it open while going through SRT and using the SP cath. You can imagine how fun Monday will be!!!!

Hey David,

You are almost over the hump. I hope that from here on it is all an easy slide to #39. Maybe there is something to the post about radiation heating the catheter tube opening. Sounds like it is a good question for the experts when you get the opportunity. It might make things a bit more comfortable if that could be avoided.

Thanks, Bill/Model - all long journeys start with a single footstep they say. I know from prior experience from RT, that toxcity builds up over time, the last 4 weeks might increase side effects, but I have talked that through with my doctor and prepared as I can be. The biggest thing so far is the increase in fatigue. I was already fighting CFS before this treatment program, somehow, I know I will make it through it. THey are still trying to get me into a new rehab program that you do while undergoing the treatments, instead of waiting to the end.

Hey, Jet Bill, did you read today, Boeing putting their new plane plant right here in SC, in Charleston, suppose to be 12,000 Boeing Jobs alone. We all do our share of suffering with pC, we each have different flavors of it. I knew this would be hard, only because of what I went through with it in the past, the worse part is the bad memories it brings from almost 10 years ago, never ever thought I would be laying on a cold metal table going through this again. But that is my draw in life at this point.
