 I apologize for all the trouble my post had created.It was not my intention to push my believe to anyone.

I believe that we live in a free country,and if some individuals because their bitterness thinks otherwise,so let it be.

I can not and will not compromise my conviction;and if it is what it take to be part of the group no thanks.

And I apologize for having the thread locked. This subject, and the retribution it drew, has also left me with deep wounds on what support I can expect to receive in my journey here, and my ability to express my very sincere feelings in regards to my own journey with advanced prostate cancer. I will only post updates about my illness on my personal blog moving forward. I can do so there without offending anyone. I will do my very best to continue being a moderator, as I feel that is the better good for the community here. Your post did not warrant a debate that ultimately hijacked your post.

May peace be with you, and if you need anything that I may be able to help you with, just say the word.

Hello Goldhorse Dave Tony Bill and others Sorry from me too if I offended anyone. I was trying to be supportive. I only conttribute to this forum to try and be helpful after all. It wasn't the forum's fault, so nobody should abandon the Forum over this. I think this "incident" should perhaps serve as a reminder or warning to all of us that as well as messing with our bodies PCa can mess with our emotions and how we react to things. Let's learn from this. We all need support. And friends, forums, family faith etc are just some of the ways we get it. (And Dave I hope you're having a better day) Alfred

Goldhorse, you did nothing wrong ... your apology, while greatly appreciated, is not necessary.

I read your original post and all those that followed. I too was greatly disappointed by the turn of events. It seems to be the state of things lately that any personal convictions - regardless of "what side of the fence you are on" leads to heated debate. Some of the comments posted were most unnecessary and borderline rude. I am so sorry that your post - which was done out of kindness to others - became so twisted.

This forum has many, many outstanding and knowledgeable people - and you are a part of that. Your experiences and, more importantly, your desire to reach out and help others in their journey is crucial to this forum. Please do not let what happened cause you to turn your back on those who need our help.

While I agree that this forum is not a place for preaching, it certainly is a place for all of us to share our personal experiences. I beg you to consider staying with us as an active and valued member.

Tony, I have the utmost respect for you not just as a moderator of this wonderful forum but as a human being. I was deeply saddened to read your response to Goldhorse, and I truly hope that you will not let this most unfortunate turn of events keep you away from posting. Your honesty and knowledge, and willingness to share your journey with the rest of us, is what makes this particular forum so very special. We do not have control over what others feel but we do have control over how they affect us. I hope that you can shrug this off and continue to be an active participant here.

gold horse, please accept my apology for how you were treated with the hijacking of your thread and such a impolite introduction to us all on your first post. In an effort to try to allow the widest interpretation of the rules, I personally let this thread go out of control, instead of doing my duties as a moderator and stopping it from ever reaching this point. I suppose I have this pollyanna-ish idea that adult men and women can carry on a conversation without having to edited, deleted or censored to keep the thread civil and supportive of the members, rather than to have it hijacked to serve a person's particular viewpoint.

I'm not pointing fingers, there's enough blame to be spread for all of us involved, but I can assure you and the rest of the membership that I won't allow this to happen again while I am moderator. I won't take sides, but I will strictly enforce the rules and I will stop this from happening again, no matter who or under what circumstances it occurs. I am ashamed that this Forum ended up in this state and that I had a role to play in it. Fair Warning to all..................

No one is asking you to compromise your beliefs or standards. Many men on this forum would agree with your position.

There are those who may not agree with you, but this a free land, and you are allowed to say and believe whatever you want to.

In order to keep this forum from erupting into not so nice exchanges, the owner has set up some rules that discourage us from spending large amounts of time talking about religion and not the stated purpose of talking about Prosate Cancer and its issues.

Please consider staying with us. We welcome your knowledge and experiences with PC.

First, I am very happy to see gold horse posting here again. To me that is more important than my own issues with my dismay. And I really appreciate the very kind comments folks have made. I have no plans to leave HealingWell, but rather stick to just the moderating, and less about my plight and how I cope with it. There will be times when the moderators here will have to make decisions that while they may be fair to one, they would be unfair to another. It just goes with the role of moderating. It may happen at times that we will have to decide who will get the short end of the deal by determining the best way to keep peace a priority. Unfortunately, that means we have to make a judgement call, and we are only humans. we can only do our best, and say sorry when it doesn't work out well.

Depression is a dangerous enemy in cancer, and sometimes I have to detach from things that can be let downs. That is why I will speak freely about my cancer at my website and just reference here when I have updates on it.

I have received some wonderful Emails today, and they brought a tear to my eyes. My response is ~ of course I will use my experience and education in prostate cancer to help as many as I can here at this wonderful group website.

Goldhorse, I also don't think any apology from you is necessary at all...it certainly was not your fault that the thread go hijacked into a non-PCa discussion.

And, James, I think you are right on.  Unfortunately, we don't seem to be able to regulate ourselves on the topic of religion and the discussions get divisive and hurtful.  You and the other mods do a great job and I think zapping offending posts ASAP is a good solution to nipping this thing.
