Hey folks, well we`re at 18 days out from my robot throwdown and by the skill of my surgeon and help from the man upstairs i am fully continent and mr. happy is fully functional. I saw some shrinkage in the first days but that has disappeared and other than the technicolored bruising he seems just as before. I am still very sore in the midsection and still experiencing frequency and alittle discomfort when i go but i think that will all work itself out. I have not passed any blood or spare parts from the get go. The toughest thing for me has been getting my colon back to normal as it seems going under is particularly hard on my system for some reason. I have no real explanation for why i have regained function so quickly other than my body type and simply willing it. I dont think it can be stressed enough how big the mental game is here. My first psa is scheduled for march 2nd and hopefully that will go well. Take heart new guys, you can beat this deal! God bless this board, Tim

Excellent news Tim! I'm 16 days out from an
open surgery and too have some issues with my colon. While not difficult, it does seem to have a mind of it's own and when it's time to go, it's time to go!

Hey Tim,
18 days and you're dry, with wood?!?! Are you sure they took your prostate?
Congratulations on the speedy recovery!
Jeff too
You can send your unused pee pads to me. Sadly, I still need them.

I'm a firm believer in the Doc's experience level Counts. I went to Vanderbilt in Nashville, Tn with Dr. Smith and also am doing great.

Tdog,
That is just wonderful wonderful. Big congratulation. I see your doctor has "mad skills". I wonder if he has thought about
an anger management course?

Rick,
Good luck as you slowly approach your surgery time, that's the day after my 36th wedding anniversery. From your stats, you have a fairly small prostate gland, and low PC involvement, at least at the point of your biopsy. Hope all that works in your favor.

Congrats t-dog. I am now 2 weeks post-robotic prostatectomy and I must say I am more than delighted with the results. I think that I have overdone it in some areas and I am a little concerned. On day 6 while my catheter was still in, I experienced an erection while fondling my partner. It was a wonderful experience mentally but very painful afterwards. On day 2 after removal of my catheter, I had sex but no orgasm. The next morning, my abdominal area was very sore and I passed tinges of blood at the end of urinating. None the less, I have had sex every night since then with orgasms that are exactly similar to what I am used to.
My concern is that the bloody drips after urination have not gone away and it is also a little uncomfortable towards the end of urinating. I have my first post-op follow-up tomorrow and I hope to be told that this is normal for a while. I know it is stupid to continue to have sex while I am not fully healed but I say I wouldn't until my queen wraps her legs around me. Crazy crazy me!!!

Bimshilre,
I don't see your age in any signature but I'm guessing you're 18 or 19? Am I close? Since we try to not play doctor I'll just say, in my case, I was told to refrain from sex for 6 wks after surgery. It may not be surprising therefore if you still have pain and blood in your urine.
Steve
