Sometimes I get depressed with all the bad news so it is always refreshing to hear the good ones. Thanks for cheering us on.

Always nice to hear scan is clear, but actually it really means nothing found or detected(still good but)...which in order to be detected by any USA scan needs to be pretty sizeable (e.g. 1-million cells approx. and less will slip under the radar and not be picked up). Not what anyone wants to hear, wonder how many docs mention and point this out???? Your numbers seem reasonable enough to good outcome(s),but with PCa it is far from exact sciences is the truth of the matter.

Is your other uro-doc surgeon a referral or friend of the other guy?? I was referred too by my own uro-doc whom does surgeries but never told me he did, he didn't have the guts to mention surgery to me, as he knew in my case it would be for nothing (terrible stats)...well his pal writes it on paper and says to me: 1% chance of incontinence and wrote done curative surgery. Glad I got more opinions... like-Dr. Menon, whom refused to do surgery on me..as he knew I would fail being cured, so he was not interested in the money aspect as 1st priority (that was a surprise). You can imagine how pleasant it was to hear those two opinions that are diametrically opposed.

Ask your doc(s) if they ran any nomograms or Partin tables on your stats and see what their response is, do not let on if you do or don't know about such. Might be interesting to hear back what is said. Hey I hope you do very well and anybody that faces a major treatment, hope that truth, full disclosure and reasonable assessments are given to all patients as their birth rights!

Well done I am impressed with your whole analysis as a new layperson (whom won't be uninformed based upon what you are doing right now)....now if others follow your example that are newly diagnosed the world will have better informed patients, likely some better results and happier patients in many cases. I hope you don't think I am harping to much on issues...but having seen some patients make very uniformed and regrettable choices is not fun to witness and if I can make a friggin difference in this system, before this PCa gets me I will proceed to do just that...darn the torpedos and political correctness.

In Strums book (2nd edition)- I am the dude on the inside cover whom is quoted as saying:
"This book trumps them all" (back in 2003 or so...this book was sorely needed by many and only needs some minor updates, the contents within are priceless for patients).I met Donna P. the co-author on forums from www.prostate-help.org and other places...she is doing other works now, she inspired Dr. Strum to put the book together is what I heard, Terry Herbert is on the back cover he is the moderator of www.yananow.net and a great PCa icon for us to share informations. I also knew a couple of others on the books covers, from those days back then.
