It's been quite some time since I checked in here at healingwell.com
Things for me are stable, yes my PSA is high but my alk phos is normal and I had an updated CTC test earlier this month and it again came back ZERO.

Well folks, as you can see from my signature my PSA is on the rise!
After getting a high but stable result from HDK/HC for about 6 months, my PSA rose
50% in the last month.

So now it's time for a change.
Friday I'll have a updated bone scan, PSA, CTC and a few other tests.
Monday we'll meet with the Oncologist to decide:
DES?
Estradiol patches?
A clinical trial, such as: http://clinicaltrials.gov/ct2/show/NCT01017939?term=prostate+and+abiraterone&recr=open&rank=4

For those us with advanced and HRPCa this journey is a struggle and a constant starin on out lives. However, in the end we go on and we fight the next round, and the next and the next...

Hi, David. So sorry to hear of the latest test results. Stay strong, my friend. It seems that you've had more than your share of the down moments. Here's to hoping that the better things are in your future. Get ready for disc golf. It will warm up around here someday. All my best to M. and your son. Loved the song list on Miller's show.

David - your blog is a true inspiration.  You have had such a difficult journey but have travelled it with great determination to live life your way despite your difficult PCa.

IN this weeks update, the news gets worse.
My PSA is up to 194
Next week I start DES or we find a location for the Provenge Phase II Trial

Hi David,
Our friend here at HealingWell ~ Gordy (Les) is about to begin a clinical trial using Sunitinib. I'll forward you a list of trials with it. Unfortunately, I know you are trying to avoid round 2 with Taxotere, but I think the pertinent trials you might find interest in are with Taxotere.

I am only mentioning it as a fallback to DES and hopefully giving you a heads up about it. I know you were on HDK with Nilandron, but those are not long term approaches, and it's just time to move to something else. Provenge is also within range as well. But I hope the DES slows the PSA down for a while and buys you time to look at the new trials.

Keep the faith brother, we love you and we will definitely appeal to a higher source!

I echo the sentiments of others on here. Thanks for keeping us posted and inspired. We have your back in this fight. I wish you didn't have to be the treatment trailblazer, but thank you for your fight and finding a way when a way doesn't seem to be there. Praying for low PSA's and effective treatment for you.
