John goes in today to have blood drawn for his 24 month PSA test. As usual, I am anxious and he isn't, though I admit I'm not scared like I've been in the past.

If our doctor stays true to form, he should be calling his by Thursday with the results. Hopefully, another zero will move John up to 6 month blood tests rather than every 3 months.

I can't believe that it'll be two years (on March 18) since John's date with the robot. Sometimes it feels like it was yesterday, and sometimes it feels like I've spent half my life dealing with this disease and the many issues around it. But, all in all, I am doing well and John is doing great. Incontinence is improving (not 100% yet but getting close). ED continues to be a work in progress, and we're waiting for the first order from ADC to arrive since our insurance company will only cover 5 Viagra every 30 days.

So, for those who pray, please keep 'em coming - not just for my John but for everyone on this board. David, I said a special prayer for you (actually it was for your bladder!) this morning.

Sephie, hard to believe it's been 2 years. I hope and pray John's good fortune continues, and that you share another big zero with us. I am hoping and hoping that.

Thanks for the prayer, it's actually my bladder neck that is the culprit, my bladder sometimes works too well, despite having a hole puncturing it sides for almost 6 months now.

Give my best to John, and a hug for you.

Sephie, hoping for another ZERO for both John and you. I had my open surgery on Jan. 4, 2010. I go for my first post-surgical PSA test on April 14. Keep us informed.

Good luck, prayers and best wishes for you and John. You have been a tremendous support to me throughout my journey and I hope to see great news for you and John.

Sephie: I do hope the PSA comes back ZERO!!!!! We can then promote John to Capt. of the group. I am 17 months out and can not express how greatful that I am healing as well as I have. Hugs to both of you... And I will pray for Davids Bladder Neck!

Here is hoping the best for both of you. And boy are you on target when you said "we have been dealing with this for what seems like an eternity." May that soon end for the two of you so that you can deal with more pleasant subjects.

Good luck to you and John.  I,m just beginning the journey so many of you have already been through but reading everyone's experiences is helping to ease the anxiety. Here's hoping for many more zero's in John's future!  We will also put in an extra prayer today.

Good luck on the PSA test. I'm sure you will still be in the zero club. I am finally a zero after 2 years post RP.

Urologist called yesterday (24 hours after blood draw) to tell us that John's membership in the Zero Club has been renewed!!!! John has now graduated to a semi-annual PSA test.

I had a chance to speak with the doctor about the rise in August and September, and we discussed how this sometimes happens during nerve-sparing surgery. Of course, my doctor, being the humble guy that he is, said that yes benign tissue can be left behind when the nerves are spared but only with other surgeons (he said this with a laugh). The bottom line is that the uptick this past summer was an anomaly - we're not sure what caused it but the doctor suspects benign tissue. He stressed that the important thing is that John has had 3 consecutive zeros since then.

I know this doesn't happen often but for those who are facing detectable PSA after surgery, take hope in my husband's story.

Congrats to you and John. I hope and pray that you guys never see anything but zero on the future tests.

Now relax, enjoy the next 6 months worry free and get on with living the good and cancer free life.

Most wonderful news I have heard all day. I have probably been an anxious for this reading, as I have for any of my own. So much wanted him to be rewarded with another fat zero. And you got it!!!!

I am deeply happy for the both of you. Hugs to one and all.

Feel so relieved for you in particular. Hoping my wife will get some good news from me one of these days.

Fantastic news! I also really appreciate your previous relay of the doctor's explanation as to why the psa blimps might have happened... helps give me (not speaking for anyone else) the calmness to wait for a couple followup tests before jumping to conclusions.
