Hi tatt2man. I don’t think much conclusive research has been done on hemp seeds and their omega-3 benefits. In fact, most plant-based sources contain alpha linolenic acid (ALA) which is a pre-cursor to omega 3 fatty acids. The body needs to convert ALA to docosahexaenoic acid (DHA) and eicosapentaenoic acid (EPA). The efficiency ratio is poor and differs from individual to individual. EPA and DHA are the omega-3 fatty acids that have been well-researched for their potential ability to confer multiple health benefits. For this reason, it is good to take fish oil supplements for their omega 3 benefits.
If you’re looking for a nutrient that supports prostate health, beta sitosterol has been considered a winner. There’s enough scientific research support to validate its efficacy and it has no known side effects. Beta sitosterol is derived from plant sources. Men over 40 take prostate supplements, like Super Beta Prostate, that contain beta sitosterol and other vital vitamins and minerals, to support a healthy prostate. Beta sitosterol also supports healthy urinary flow and functions and men who suffer from an aging prostate have found it very helpful.
