Well, it's been 5 years. As I sit and type the good news, Paul is out someplace fighting a fire, doing what he loves. His PSA remains undetectable and his tumor markers for TCa (15 years now) remain negative. To those who have been around all these many years, and to those who have recently joined, I'd like to say; without the support of this fourm, our road would have been longer and much more of a struggle. Although we may not post much anymore, we do keep up and we're always sure to keep you all in our thoughts and prayers.

Swim and Paul - that is so encouraging to relative newbies like me ( 5 months) and others here at HW who are at different points of their journey.

Swim and Paul, great news is always welcomed. Sure glad to hear the upside of the PCa battle. It sure brings hope and encouragement. There are not enough who have been successful in their fights that remember to come back and let us know.

News like yours gives hope to those that come here at the beginning of the journey.

Dear Vicki,

Thanks for the post and congratulations to both you and Paul.  What a luxury it is just to be able to go to work and live normally.  Many aren't so privileged and it breaks my heart.

I got the results of my three year psa recently and I too, am well.  Lucky me.

Like Paul, I am working doing what I love.  I'll be 66 in June, but I am still flying those magnificent Gulfstreams.  Jan and I still have young Will five days a week and he remains a true joy in our lives.

That is most wonderful news to read first thing this morning. I am happy for him, for you, and for both of you together. He is fortunate to be able just to put this behind him and continue on with his "normal" life. Still hoping to be there one day myself, but rejoice in any of the bothers that can be in zero land without problems for so many years.

Thanks for the news of that MAJOR marker in PCa recovery. 5 years---now that's the first goal of accomplishment for establishing a lifetime trend of no PCa. Congrats to you both, and thanks for being here to help when I came wandering thru the door- scared and confused. Your and many others help and advice 3 years ago really helped to get my head back on straight again. Thanks.....

Congrats to you guys.

One can only wonder, if you still cringe when you get the latest PSA results, or is it getting easier. I sure hope so.

Too many times it is hard to remember the thousands that have passed through this forum and are living normal, happy lives.

You are definitely missed around here, but I am so happy to hear that Paul is doing so well and doing what he loves. That is my hope for everyone on this forum. I guess if we are going to miss you, it is better to miss you knowing that you both are happy, healthy and enjoying life. Keep us posted on your good news and drop in some of your valuable info every once in awhile too ;) xoxxo

Swim, great to hear such great news.

Last Monday I had my 9 month PSA done. The technician said results should be available Thursday. All Thursday I worked up the courage to call and at 4 p.m. called Judy, the uro "nurse." You should have heard me on the phone ---- calm, cool, kidding around, no big deal. Meanwhile I'm sitting in a puddle and this time it's sweat. Judy says, "Let me look you up --- no, nothing back yet. Try tomorrow." Friday --- after no sleeping Thursday night sure I was headed for radiation and worse --- I didn't call. Just couldn't do it. After reading your uplifiting post I think I'll have the guts to call Monday ---- but no way I'm going to fight a fire even if I am zero again.

Congratulations on your 5 year mile stone and may the next 5 years be even better. I'm just about 4 years into my journey and can only hope to do as well as Paul at 5 years. Thanks for chiming in and cheer us up with the good news.
