Seriously, everytime I whine, my surgeon implies that the size alone, even with nerve sparing, resulted in my continued impotence, from the abnormal stretching of the nerves beforehand and the unintended damage done to remove the gland. I'll have to ask him if he took it home in a jar to put on his mantle in his rec room, if I ever see him again..

Sorry for the underestimation. I wanted to see just how big 110 gm is so I put fruit on the lab scale. (Yes. The same one where I weigh my pee pads.) Your walnut was the size of an Empire Apple! Were you bow legged?

"Sisyphean" is derived from Greek mythology's Sisyphus. He was the poor sap who was punished by having to push a boulder up a hill and just as he reached the top it would slide down around him. He had to do it all again for all eternity.
Just when he feels like he's gaining and the goal is within his grasp... his pee pad bursts open and he wets his pants.

Panty hose is a great idea! I'll have to keep that in mind. I live in a cool climate where things dry out quickly when exposed to air. Nothing like walking in the back yard singing the title song to "Born Free! "

To avoid rash I use the ointment for two days, then just when the fungi think they know what's up, I switch to ZnO cream for 2 -3 days, then switch to air dry. I put my wife's hair dryer on the sink and let it blow on my bits while I brush my teeth. (Shh, don't tell her.) Then a couple of days later I switch over to whichever tube has more goop in it, cream or ointment and start the process over again. It seems to work.
The pad in pad trick is using regular depends male guards and then putting an additional half of an extra coverage pad at the target area. I carry half pads in every pocket and can change them out really fast. It is most important to have one in your breast pocket so when you drop your pants you don't have to bend over to get one.
I ran optimizations to reduce the cost per day. A pad in pad seems more expensive but is actually lower cost because you can run it right to the full line without fear. When you have only one line of defense you tend to change more often than you need to. When I throw a pad away, it's full!

I haven't been around HW for a while. I think I've gotten to the point where I'm trying to ignore my leaking and, like "Cool Hand Luke", getting my mind right for what I see is a long haul on the road to continence. In other words I want to learn to live with it. I am 95% continent when I'm not doing any very active exercise and under those conditions use a couple of pads a day. I don't let them fill up to "squishy". Exercising, forget it though. It's getting better abeit slowly. Coming up on 8 months now.



I think you're doing exactly the right thing by giving yourself more time. Personally I'm going to go a whole lot longer before I let them start cutting on me again. There are guys I've read about here who had improvement after more than a year.



To answer your question about the size of the external sqincter.....I read a study comparing the sphincter size in continent vs. incontinent WOMEN. Can't find one on men. The continent women had an average size of 19.2 mm and the incontinents averaged 16.9 mm. I wonder how acurate was your measurement of 10 mm?

Very interesting indeed. I already know the Uro had to remove part of mine as it was mentioned in the surgical report. If length matters, wouldn't that be a good number to record? It might help people decide on a course of treatment earlier.

I intend to flog the "1 cm" I have as much as possible until October and then evaluate my options. I'd be willing to accept 80 ml per day for life. It sure beats the alternatives.

At eight months I feel like I'm only about 90% recovered to my former pre-surgery health and energy level, and that's without considering my wounded leaking urinary tract, non-existant libido and ED. (Went from stud to dud in 4.5 hrs.).

The thought of more rooting around in my innards and the questionable results of slings reported here on HW would make the decision to get one of those a supremely unhappy one.

You are right about reporting the length of the external sphincter on the post-surgery report. At least knowing that might help patients understand their incontinence and adjust their expectations accordingly.
