Dave, you will be my primary prayer tonight. It sounds like your dealing with more "stuff" than if fair for one person to handle. But i've read your posts.. you are STRONG, you came this far, and I am confident that you WILL continue doing whatever you need to do to get where you need to be. For what it's worth... Even your small victories will feel like big victories to me. I'm looking forward to the next post by you that says "and some good news"... You dont know me Dave, but I promise! THAT will bring a tear to my eye.

I've been away for nigh on a week and just caught up with your news David. As much mojo as I can muster is headed your way. Here's to the uro seeing definite signs of some mending up there. Take care and good luck,

I want to thank each one of you for your continued support and care. I really appreciate what we have here at HW, for Peter's support of this site and our cause, for our moderators, and for each brother and sister. I don't care if we disagree or ,agree on certain points, we are all individuals, we all have different backgrounds, views, beliefs, etc that make us unique.

Today was a day of much pain. I stopped the ditropan, and started the new med as suggested by my dr. Big mistake, bet I have had close to 3 dozen long and painful spasms today. Much worse than normal, some enough to almost drop me to the ground and bring a tear to the eye. Just got back from my grand son's 5th birthday party. Felt like a dud, as I had to stay seated the whole time, too afraid to move in case it triggered another one.

My dr and I agree, with this 6th corrective surgery, it will be our last attempt at allowing a natural healing. We both agree that the radiation damage was just too much for my bladder neck/urethra area, which was already in bad shape prior to SRT. On July 1, will be on the SP cath continuous for 9 months, and there is very little evidence of any healing.

If this doesnt work in a couple of months, believe I will be ready to submit to a more serious surgery along the lines of a urinary bypass. Hate the thought of another major surgery and the recovery, but I can keep going on in this endless loop of pain and suffering.

One day at the time, all I can handle to be honest.

As always, you are in my thoughts and prayers. I hope this one gives you some relief.

David .... I wish I could take your pain and anguish for an hour. I think I could give you an hour, but I don't know how I could do more. While I can't take your pain and anguish, for me it helps put into perspective the magnitude of what you are coping with. I remain in awe of your strength, and determination. That said, it might be healthy, and theraputic, to crumple into a heap on the floor, yell, scream, bang, and generally rail against the injustice and unfairness of it all. I prescribe this medicinal freak-out secure in the knowledge that once "out," you'd pick up and carry on where I'd never be able to get up.

While major surgery is not something to look forward to, if it can offer a real chance of resolving this, at least on a basis that will allow you a "normal" life, whatever that may mean, then it is probably the thing to do --- if the natural healing isn't working.
